Welcome to my blog! I’m Barry Saiff, a 50-year old former software technical writer now living mostly in Tagaytay, Philippines. I return to my homeland, the USA, 2 or 3 times a year, and always visit the San Francisco Bay Area when I do.
I’m writing a book, to be published in 2012, entitled “Moving to the Philippines: The Expat’s Complete Guide to Living in Paradise.” More books on other topics will follow. I’m also starting a software technical writing outsourcing firm here in the Philippines.

For the last 26 years I’ve been a software technical writer, writing the installation guides, administration guides, online help, etc., that help people use software. I’ve also managed technical writing groups at 6 companies. I’ve been an activist on issues such as ending hunger (http://www.thp.org), bisexual advocacy (http://www.binetusa.org), peace, and most recently immigration equality for binational same sex couples (http://www.out4immigration.org).

I live here in Tagaytay with my boyfriend, Dindin. The weather here is very similar to San Francisco, unlike most of the rest of the Philippines, which tends to be a bit too hot for my taste. My fear is if I lived say, in Manila, I would melt.
